TechMet appointments are pleased to be working on behalf of a well-established, award winning and growing accountancy practice for an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join their team in a newly created role.    Opportunity for an accountancy training contract.
The main duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into XERO accounting software.
  • Paying vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Organising and controlling client records for processing through Xero.
  • Processing payroll
  • Credit control.
  • Responding to client queries.
  • Ad hoc duties as required.
Essential criteria:
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Bookkeeping experience
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Eager to learn and develop as part of the team.
  • Have the ability to manage a busy and varied workload and meet deadlines.
  • Able to communicate to a high standard with clients and other staff.
  • Motivated and flexible with a can do and will do attitude every day.
  • Understand and demonstrate that people come first in everything we do.
Desirable criteria:
  • Proficient with XERO accounting.
  • Knowledge of VAT rules - but training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of payroll
  • An IATI qualification or equivalent is preferable but not essential.
  • Monday  - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm (Negotiable)
